I had a client ask me the other day about the analogy 'muscle weighs more than fat', she questioned it because isn't 5lbs the same no matter what it is?
And yes, she is right!
That being said 5lbs of fat takes up more space in your body than 5lbs of muscle does. When trainers say you might not see a big change on the scale because muscle weighs more than fat it's because we are helping you change that fat into nice lean muscle. You will notice a change in the way your clothes feel, the way you hold your body, the way your body shape is changing before you will see a dramatic change in the number on a scale.
So, that being said take time to notice how you feel when you are exercising and eating well, don't pay as much attention to the number on the scale.
At the end of the day it's about how you feel, how your body is changing for the better and not what the scale has to say!
